BRIGITTE AKANT

After several years working professionally in France in the industrial sector, an unexpected move to Istanbul in 1998 changed Brigitte Akant’s life.

​

Drawn to communication and human connection, she immersed herself in this fascinating city of art and culture, taking the time to observe, admire, exchange ideas, and learn.

It became clear to her that her path now had to lead toward artistic creation.

 

She took her first steps in drawing, painting, engraving, and mosaic work, before turning to sculpture - her true calling. This technique, which she explores from multiple angles, allows her to work with a variety of materials from which strength merge with energy, and beauty with emotion.

Now based in Barcelona, Brigitte Akant has opened an art gallery AKANT ART, Laforja 26, where her sculpture studio is also located.
